Oh gosh, stop with the "you attack only Christians". Its never what was done here. No religion is free of sin.
Under the Christians, Europe enslaved people of color for about 4 centuries, true. But Islam enslaved people of color for more than a thousand years. So no, Christians are not the only people that did crimes against Humanity. Islam did it too.

We are NOT attacking Christianity over other religion. But from what I see, Christianity likes to play the victim these days. We can't speak about religion without them going all "its not just us, others did bad stuff too". Yes, its true. But saying "we were bad because others were bad" doesn't justify any of it.

But Christianity today is not the same as 5 centuries ago. 'The sins of the father' is bullshit, we shouldn't blame people for what their ancestors did in the past. But yet, we cannot forget what was done.

So for those that feel like having to defend Christianity anytime something is said about religion, can you relax a bit? People are allowed to their opinions. You are free to have yours, but let us have ours. We are not insulting religion, we are being polite. So give us the same courtesy, okay?

But the Catholic church is more like a bank, today. They have enough money to be able to help way more people.. but instead, the priests in Rome live in palaces. Aren't they supposed to be more focused on helping the world? Or at least Catholic countries? There are many catholic countries that would need their help, after all. And all the cash they have, they could use it for the greater good rather than just keep living in luxury.

    True, but both ideals suck.

No, Socialism is a good thing. Socialist countries are doing well (just look at Scandinavian countries). And Canada is also quite Socialist, and we do good too.
So no, Socialism is not bad. Its just like Capitalism. Its not bad in itself. Its the extremists or those that pervert the ideals that are bad.

True, but the RCC is waayyyy far better today than it ever has been in the past about acceptance.
The whole mess they are still clearing up would have never come to light if they still operated as they did in the 19th century and prior.

ATHENEA, everything you say is so beautiful, thoughtful, real. Every day you are more interesting and I understand a little more all the pain you have endured. I am anxious because the day of Valencia is coming because I have many hugs for you. Many kisses. :):););)

Well, Socialism is a good idea on paper, but once you factor in that humans take part in it, it becomes just as corrupt
    as the other two.

Well, if Humanity is the problem, then its not Socialism the problem.
The problem is that Humans think about themselves more than about society.
Socialism is the solution. Not the problem

But to come back to religions, Christianity has done wrongs in the past, yes.
Islam has done the same (and it still doing some today)
That is why I have a problem with religions.
With Christianity, I don,t like that they cover their mistakes (like they did with the priests that were raping children). But at least, the Pope FINALLY admitted the wrongs his religion has done against Native Americans.
With Islam, what I don't like is that some perverted the original texts to impose their limited view on the world and on women's rights.

No religion is perfect. No religion is free of sins.
They are flawed. But they could be better, they could do good, if they started to look more for others rather than at their privileges.

If you guys are starting to talk about National Days, I can say that June 24 is the National Day of the Quebec, called "Sain-Jean-Baptiste"

Yes, Star has told me about that day. is when Valencia was freed from the Muslim invasion. They have a lot of parties, music, parades, fireworks, parties, dancing, but it's in October.

The Catholic church might look like a "bank", but it also runs a wide variety of programs and services. One being alcohol and drug addiction programs, shelters for homeless, soup kitchens, marriage counseling, day and summer camps for inner city youth and etc. etc.

But the Pope also live in a Palace, as are the 'big priests' in the Vatican.
For a religion that says "help others", they sure like to use a good part of that money for their own privileges.

I can't say for sure if the Pope and big priests use a good portion of that money for their personal use. I never seen the financial records of the Vatican. If I did, I would be more than happy to agree with you.
