"The Judge", directed by David Dobkin (2014).

Perfect in their roles, Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall are perfectly matched, oscillating between the family drama, the memories reborn, the muted desires and a judicial world that permeates the entire film.

Lots of good flicks, especially They Live & Bladerunner. But I'm a film buff, so I dig a wide variety of stuff, even some of the newer stuff that have left others disappointed. I try to take a film on its own merits rather than with any expectations. All any film is anyway is just a bunch of people playing dress-up & pretend, like little kids... except a camera is on while they put on their little play. That's all it is.

Last one I watched was Otto Premminger's Skiddo done in 1968 with a wide variety of stars of the time like Jackie Gleason, Carol Channing & a handful of people who played villains in the funny campy Batman show, such as Caesar Romero & Frank Gorshon (the Joker & Riddler). Most notably it had Groucho Marx in it. It was his last film ever. Premminger berated him constantly on the film, and Gleason had to threaten him to leave Groucho alone.

A lot of people still criticize the film today, but it's big fun. Groucho & Gleason actually took LSD-25 for the film.

"Seven Years in Tibet", Jean-Jacques Annaud (1997)

Breathtaking panoramic images, often moving, always intense, but life in Lhasa and with the Dalai Lama is the focal point of the film.
