I didn't know where to put this one - anyways, it's a news story.

Japan: See-through public toilets open in Tokyo parks

Glass technology has been adopted so prospective users can inspect

the cleanliness of the loo - and to see if anyone is inside.​

​

You can't make this stuff up. Apparently, a number of leading designers helped to create the restrooms as part of the Tokyo Toilet Project to change people's 'dark, dirty, smelly and scary' perceptions of public loos.

How ? The toilets use coloured 'smart glass' which turns opaque when they are occupied. Simple.

" These public toilets are being designed by 16 leading creators, and will use advanced design to make them accessible for everyone regardless of gender, age, or disability, to demonstrate the possibilities of an inclusive society. "

The see-through loos have opened in two parks in Shibuya, a commercial part of the Japanese capital of Tokyo. There are plans to open more of the transparent toilets across the same neighbourhood by next spring.

Some how I don't think that it catch on here in the immediate future. Except for maybe California. They are already pissing and shitting on the streets and sidewalks. The government can save money by using plain clear glass, not the pricey "smart glass".

Parrots in wildlife park moved after swearing at visitors in England

Five parrots have been removed from public view at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in eastern England, after they started swearing at customers.

The African grey parrots - named Eric, Jade, Elsie, Tyson and Billy - were given to the park from five different owners within the same week, and shared a quarantining facility together before being placed on display. And the foul-mouthed birds were split up after they launched a number of different expletives at visitors and staff just days after being donated.

"It just went ballistic, they were all swearing," the venue's chief executive Steve Nichols said Tuesday.

"I get called a fat t**t every time I walk past !" Nichols complained.
