Shouldn't they have on hand a spacesuit for everyone there in case of emergency. In case of decompression do they flip a coin to see who gets to live. It'll take a while for the coin to land though.

Customers Show Remarkable Act Of Kindness Toward Seal Beach Donut Shop Owner

Come for one donut, buy a dozen. It’s a small act but one that shows the power businesses have to bring together their communities.

In my hometown of Seal Beach, California, Donut City is an institution. John and Stella Chhan opened the shop more than 30 years ago after moving to California as Cambodian refugees. In the decades since they first opened, the Chhans have served fresh, delicious donuts to customers every day—and they’ve done it together. Customers love the personal touch of getting their donuts from the same smiling faces every day.

But things took a turn recently when Stella suffered an aneurysm and was forced to enter a rehab facility. John was left to run the shop on his own to support his wife and pay the bills. Word got out about the Chhan’s situation, and the community stepped in. John didn’t want customers to set up a GoFundMe page, so customers found a creative way to help John and Stella keep their business going while still having time to spend together.

The idea spread to buy donuts a dozen at a time so that John could sell out faster and have more time to spend with his ailing wife.

With no more donuts to sell, he could be free to spend more time at the rehab facility. At first, it was just a few customers, but it soon spread so that nearly every customer buys a dozen donuts, even if they just came in for one.

The entire Seal Beach community has rallied around the Chhans and their donuts.

Now, customers are ready to buy tons of donuts when the shop opens so that John can spend more time with his wife while she recovers. Some days, the donuts are gone by 10:30 in the morning, giving John lots more time to spend with Stella.

Stella is still in rehab, but she’s making progress towards recovery. I love this story, and not just because it reminds me of the deliciousness of Donut City.

The story shows the power of companies in the community.

Donut City isn’t the flashiest or largest shop in town, but it has heart and has been in the community for decades. Customers feel connected to the Chhans and want to give back. When customers feel valued and connected to a company, they’ll go out of their way to help in troubling times. Donut City has been there for the community, and now the community is there for the shop.

Customer experience isn’t just for corporate empires. It’s more than just jargon and strategic plans. It really boils down to having heart and connecting with customers. By making a company an important part of the community, customers feel a bond that lasts.

Donut City shows that no matter the size of your company, getting involved in the community builds powerful bonds that create loyal customers who will do everything for your brand—especially if it means eating more donuts.

Hero firefighter rescues six koalas from death after spotting the terrified marsupials huddled helplessly together in the path of a bush-fire

A hero firefighter has been praised for rescuing six vulnerable koalas from being incinerated by a raging bush-fire.

Adelaide woman Janelle Michalowski posted a photo of the marsupials huddling together inside her home near a bucket of water.

'Amazing work by a man named Adam and his mates who pulled these guys out of harm's way at Cudlee Creek and into safety!' she wrote.

'Adam is a firefighter and currently working out in the field, he has made everyone's day.'

In the powerful photograph, one of the koalas can be seen clutching the door frame nervously.

The post has since gone viral with 22,000 shares and more than 300 comments.

'All I have in my mind is images of burnt koalas, good to see some rescued out of danger,' one thankful person wrote.

'How beautiful well done these are our true heroes,' another added.

'You are amazing. Thank you for saving these little cuties,' a third wrote.

Koala Rescue have since taken the koalas into their care.

The massive Cudlee Creek fire in the Adelaide Hills has ravaged 25,000 hectares of country.

Two people have died, 54 others are injured and 15 homes have been burned as bushfires continue to cause carnage across South Australia.

[IMG]© Provided by Daily Mail Adelaide woman Janelle Michalowski praised the firefighter, only known as Adam, for taking the time to rescue the native animals from certain death (Pictured: Fire crosses Ridge Road at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills in Adelaide on Friday)

Nature Conservation Council ecologist Mark Graham told an inquiry earlier this month koalas in most instances 'really have no capacity to move fast enough to get away' from fires.

'We've lost such a massive swathe of known koala habitat that I think we can say without any doubt there will be ongoing declines in koala populations from this point forward,' Mr Graham said.

'The fires have burnt so hot and so fast that there has been significant mortality of animals in the trees, but there is such a big area now that is still on fire and still burning that we will probably never find the bodies.'

In NSW, the raging bushfires had already claimed the lives of up to 2000 koalas by December 9.

[IMG]© Provided by Daily Mail It comes just one day after a terrified koala was found outside an Adelaide home with her joey seeking shelter

North East Forest Alliance president and ecologist Dailan Pugh said since July fires have burnt more than 1.6 million hectares of the northeast NSW bio-region including 24 per cent of koala habitat.

'Based on habitat loss it is likely that over 2000 koalas have died either in the fires or from starvation and dehydration since, though the actual numbers could be far greater,' Mr Pugh said.

Science for Wildlife executive director Dr Kellie Leigh said there was no resources or planning in place to save koala populations from fires.

'We're getting a lot of lessons out of this and it's just showing how unprepared we are,' Dr Leigh said on Monday.

'There's no procedures or protocols in place ... even wildlife carers don't have protocols for when they can go in after fire.'

Very heartwaring = down the road.

Down the road is a Flemish television program that is broadcast on "Een". In 2019 the program had two seasons. On April 8, 2019, "Een" announced that there will be a third season.

In this program Dieter Coppens goes on a journey with six young people with Down syndrome. In this way the participants try to push their limits.

Canada's response to COVID 19 has been superbly spearheaded by this lady, Dr. Theresa Tam.

Dr. Tam obtained her medical degree from the University of Nottingham in the U.K. She completed her paediatric residency at the University of Alberta, and her fellowship in paediatric infectious diseases at the University of British Columbia.

She has played a leadership role in Canada's prior responses to public health emergencies including SARS, H1N1 and Ebola. And she has done our Country proud with her contributions.

My dear friend Brenda owns an art/memorabilia store nearby - it's like a grown-up toy shop, luv it.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
This treasure of a place has been closed down from the start. But according to our Provincial Plan, shops like hers and hair salons and such will be allowed to open up again on Tuesday of next week. (Not bars and restaurants yet, though.)

Why Tuesday ? This weekend is a long weekend here, and Monday is Victoria Day, in honour of the Queen. And a day when I'm sure that Brenda and her crew will be busy getting ready for their re-opening. [IMG]
