Idiot, he's getting what he asked for.

USA TODAY NETWORK and ASSOCIATED PRESS

A Northern Kentucky man traveled to a Canadian resort for some fun.

Instead, he got a visit from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the country’s national police force, for violating Canada’s Quarantine Act – and now faces big fines and possible jail time.

John Pennington, 40, of Walton was fined $1,200 on June 25 after staff at a Banff hotel in the Canadian Rockies called

the police saying they believed the U.S. citizen was violating quarantine laws during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He could also face a fine of up to $750,000 or six months in jail.

He flew to Seattle and traveled to Canada and Alaska, he said in the video. He said he didn’t understand why police visited his hotel room after he was approved by border patrol. Local police didn’t stop him and the hotel allowed him to check in.

“I thought I was good to go,” he said in the video. He added that he would have understood if the hotel told him he wasn’t allowed to stay when he booked the room.

In the comments, someone asked him how he was able to pass border patrol. He said he told patrol officers he was traveling for “transit purposes,” and added a winky emoji.

Pennington could not be reached for comment.

Most Americans are not allowed in Canada during the pandemic. But, many have used a loophole to travel through Canada on the way to and from Alaska.

Throughout college, my boy had been dating a girl from St. Louis, and it was looking like a marriage was in the offing.

She was in St. Louis visiting her family when the door got shut, and he hasn't seen her since.

When you say "the door got shut", does that mean no contact at all? No phone calls, email, snail mail, texts, Skype? Nothing at all? Could she be in a hospital with COVID infection? Strange that she would just become silent. Hope she is safe and your son is safe as well as yourself.

For sure they're in touch, but it must be frustrating not to be able to get together.

It's not like St. Louis is a couple of minutes away. I've been in a couple of long distance relationships too. I can relate. As long as very body is well, that's the main thing.

BTW do YOU like her? Do her parents like your son? I found that parental approval has a dramatic effect on these kind of relationships.

Hi Folk, trust you're all well & safe from COVID-19.

I have been fortunate to watch a couple of YouTube clips on COVID-19 before they were pulled down by YouTube. It went against the narrative of the day. One of them had Immunologists & Virologists that are top in their field, talking about the behavior of COVID-19 as transmission, & also the measures in trying to stop COVID-19, where there were large holes in the evidence being purported by organizations like the WHO.

I have attached a link below of a clip that goes against the narrative, that won't be taken down by Youtube, that will give you the other side of the story that is not heard very much because of the manipulation that goes on in this World.

Enjoy watching it and take care.

My opinion is that people could not understand - the SITUATION is VERY BAD,
because this new disease is here - to stay with us for years!!!

We have more than 200 000 (additional) deaths in USA and the number is growing - 1000 per day...
Soon we have 1 Million deaths in world total - during less then one year...
If it is not tragic, or NO BIG DEAL - everyone should decide himself...
But it is stupid to deny the level of severity of that disease for all world population...

I thick that more accurate way of looking at this is - the number of deaths per 1000 of the population. Or per 10,000 of population. Which ever gives you a better picture/understanding of what's going on. That should be for each country. Not just the total number of deaths.

You're right. That's the main stat that we are looking at, but even then, you're at the mercy of the country reporting it.
Some countries are deliberately under reporting it, and even those of us trying to be honest have different criteria that we use. It's hard to get a really accurate picture on the international level.

In official Covid19 data page -
    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

there is a column - Deaths per 1 Mil population.

Made a copy from there, stand - Today - for 30 most affected countries:

    # / Country / Deaths/1M pop

    1 San Marino 1,237
    2 Peru 942
    3 Belgium 857
    4 Andorra 686
    5 Spain 650
    6 Bolivia 642
    7 Chile 637
    8 Brazil 634
    9 Ecuador 623
    10 UK 614
    11 USA 611
    12 Italy 590
    13 Sweden 580
    14 Mexico 559
    15 Panama 511
    16 France 476
    17 Colombia 464
    18 Netherlands 366
    19 Ireland 362
    20 North Macedonia 328
    21 Armenia 312
    22 Moldova 294
    23 Iran 284

    27 South Africa 265
    28 Canada 243
    29 Switzerland 236
    30 Bosnia and Herzegovina 230

May be the better comparison is to compare with US soldiers total deaths in
    World War II 1941 - 1945 = 405 399 .
    /source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_casualties_of_war /

Now, during less than a year, in peace - there are 202 691 deaths.
