    It doesn't make any sense. 'Dixie' is a name known everywhere - it's in songs, books, movies ... !! WTF are they thinking ??

    They're not going to help anything with this charade. And you know who they are going to hurt - their own neighbours !!

    You know what, pal - I think that these self-important holier-than-thou people who grandstand for some oh-so-moral cause, are often simply reacting back to their own lack of same.

    Reminds me of the time the amusement park I worked at changed the name of a classic roller coaster (a landmark at that) from Rebel Yell to Racer 76. They gave some bullshit reason, but everyone knows it was to appease the politically correct crowd. They could have kept the name and just plastered Billy Idol's face all over it.

    Of course everyone knows Billy Idol is a racist. ( HUGE SMILEY EMOJI ) More to the point, I believe radio stations won't play that song anytime soon, even if it's a request.

    The Stones song 'Brown Sugar' is pretty 'racist' and 'sexist' when you just read the lyrics.
    Starts out 'Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields' and goes from there. Strong stuff.

    * It's the same up here - we're thinking of renaming structures and streets and things - so not meaning to pick on you guys for sure.

    In fact, we have a Dixie Road ! Yep, and here it is, east of me between here and Toronto.
