    Don't know the location, it is a crater lake.

    Thank you for your reply. Now I just have to look up lakes formed in craters. If I'm not mistaken, I do believe that there is a Crater Lake National Park. HHHHMMMMMM I wonder.....

    There are more than a couple of those about. Lake Toba in Indonesia, which happens to be the largest caldera in the world, Lake Taupo in Aoteoroa (New Zealand) which is the 2nd largest caldera, Lake Pupuke in Auckland (on the North Shore near Takapuna). Mt Ruapehu near to Lake Taupo also has a crater on its top. In Tasmania there is also a Crater Lake....the list goes on.
