So, I introduced my favorite employee to all of you in a previous thread. I found out a few things over the years that came to a head this week.

So you all get the Tale of Taylor now. I met her around 7 years ago. She was in my oldest's graduating XX grade class and she was the new girl. She was a foster and my girl befriended her immediately. I found out through sources (the perils of being a former AUSA and ADA is I run BG checks on a lot of people who come into contact with my girls) that she was a runaway from somewhere in the mid west and some bad shit happened that she ran away and somehow made it to Long Island. I will go further with the "this week" part. Homeless now. But smart enough to go to the cops when she found a good area and get into the NY system. So we kept an eye on her over the years and we got to where we are. She is my one of my oldest's best friends and one of my favorite "kids" (anyone more than a few years younger is a "kid"). So now to this week.

Her DAD finally found her after years. Turns out he was an abusive (physical and sexual) religious nut. He was also "powerful" in his local circles so he got away with a lot. He shows up Thursday night at the Bar and confronts her. Expecting, like most of these "Powerful in my town" types, that everyone would bow to his will. Now that was a mistake if you have paid some attention to my posts in the past. He was ranting and ordering and demanding. To the point that a Bouncer, my Wife, Daughter, her wife and Taylor all flashed the "get down here" signal (three quick stage light flashes) over about 90 seconds. He was ordering her to leave and come with him and threatening employees and patrons and Taylor. Now his mistakes began. Three doors were knocked on on the way down. My three BILs offices. We all came down and he proceeded to threaten us too. Now here was the big mistake. He had a bouncer of 6'1 210 behind him. I am 5'10 205. My BILs are all 6 foot + and low 2s. He is a 50 something and about 5'8 165 tops. He stepped up on me. I kept my cool, knowing that there would be a glock and a shotgun on him before he got off more than 3 hits anyway. I listened to him then told him "She is 19. So you have no legal remedy to MAKE her do shit. I dont care that you are her father," she then yelled "and your buddies at home have no power here to help you anyway! You did horrible things to me! And these people, MY ACTUAL FAMILY now, will protect me whatever you try!". I then calmed her, and I think he absorbed the situation he had stormed into as he looked around the room and saw there were many larger men moving around her. "She is family. Now I know what I need to. I will give you the option to leave MY town tonight. Talk to the tall redhead. She will cover your costs to leave tonite if needed. Forget about Taylor. She is dead as far as you are concerned. You are dealing with someone who has friends who can make your life MISERABLE. Police, Feds and former clients on the other side who owe me a lot. Go home. Be "powerful" there. Because here? I am the person with power. Mayor, ex AUSA." I then waved and my BILs 'escorted' him out. Tayor has stayed with a rotating "guard" since (either me, a BIL or one of her "brothers" in my nephews and male employees). I, as I wrote this, realize that if she tells me he ever contacted her without her permission again, I might do something really bad. I have since told her, "as far as I am concerned, if you are ok with it, you are now my daughter. I am your father when you need one.".
