You were too far away from the path. Don't feel bad I didn't see it either but I have in the past.

It was exciting her in beautiful Southern California.
My viewing box clearly showed the partial eclipse.

Heh, where I am at it only looked like it was shadowed under clouds. No big deal at all!

Funny how something so dumb looking can work so well huh.

Next time note that the longer the box the better the image. Next chance will be 2024

The really best view only occurs in a path 67 miles wide (inside the blue lines). That is where you will find the sun totally blocked. Here is the chart for 2024 take note of the path indicated and try to be inside that zone.

They said 50% or so for my area and it didn't do squat.

    :(

Was a good excuse to go outside for a bit though. :D:D

The sun was extremely bright and without one of those simple box viewers you wouldn't seen anything to speak of at the 50% level. With the viewer you could have seen the 50% covered half without the extreme brightness.

And the Lord Donald sayeth unto us, let it be dark, and it was so.

And being Donald, he changed his mind 5 minutes later and the lights came back on.

Newfoundland. Who are you kidding? Brunswick and Nova Scotia yea but hardly Newfoundland.

According to your map it will pass directly over Newfoundland, 100% eclipse. However the weather will be overcast with rain and snow showers and you'll see squat (because its Newfoundland).

    :D
