How to handle a telemarketer

That was sooooooo funny, I am a short tempered bastard with these people, I use an umpires whistle on them,
they never call back. Strange..

 

That is great.

I know a guy who will lead them on making them think they are going to get a sale, and then he goes "hang on there is someone at the door, just wait while I go answer it". Then he puts down the phone for ten or fifteen minutes. When he comes back he is interested in buying what they are selling but gets interrupted again and leaves them waiting some more. Then when he comes back he goes "are you still there?" and when they say yes he says well you are a bloody fool and hangs up.
Basically he is trying to chew up as much of their time as he can because that makes their operation less profitable.
