I am not that of a "movie-person". I watch them whenever they are shown on television. I go to the cinema/movie theater only when I get asked if I want to join.

I am more of a "documentary-person". Which I watch mostly on youtube. Let's say for example I want to watch something about the french revolution, then I just search for it and enjoy it.

I really only go see Star Wars lol! I mean if the movie is really good I would go see it, movies like BadBoys 3? I will wait for cable.

I have my own plex server, and I use it to the full extend of its capabilities. New movies I'll see in theater for the experience but to me it's costly and space consuming to actually purchase the DVD/BD-Disc and pop it in every time I want to see any particular film.

So... How about those Iranian servers loaded with movies?

I seldom go to the theater. It's uncomfortable sitting upright and I tend to dose off.

I "cut the cable" so dumped my satellite service after 20 years. I no longer have a disc player.Everything I watch at home is via a streaming media player. I have two players that are shared by all TVs and remotes to control them in every room.

I stream from Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I stream Movies and TV series from my Plex library.

I get DVDs from Netflix (mostly old TV series) which I rip and add to my Plex library.
After I collect an entire series, I then watch it from start to end.

I use a Tablo dvr to record off air TV.

I mostly stream but if i miss a theatrical run I'll swing by a redbox if i was excited for the film. Last rent was The Color Out Of Space.

Mostly i stream, but theres something nice about going to a theatrical release. Last movie i saw in theater was the last how to train your dragon movie.

@Curmudgeon did you opt for the pass or are you on the free side of plex? I feel somewhat bamboozled and foolishly went headlong into the lifetime package thinking they had plenty for the paid in contrast to their non-paid... Boy was I wrong.

I bought the lifetime pass. I needed it because it's required for remote access. I share my library with my two daughters and one friend.

There's ways around having to purchase the lifetime pass to access it remotely, only if you want to use their apps do you need the lifetime. Plex supports DLNA, which opens so many, many doors. (Good and bad)

When I attempted to enable remote access in the control panel a message was displayed saying "Plex Pass Required". So I just did what it said.

Right, but using some network-foo you could've accomplished it via different means, it's all academic now since we both have the lifetime. I do like the fact that you can have "ads" running and they're trailers for the movies on your server.

I mostly stream. I haven't been to a movie theater in years and I haven't bought a DVD in about the same amount of time. I have a streaming player and subscribe to multiple services. Cheaper than a cable bill and actually cheaper than going to a movie theater to see a movie (once the cost of popcorn and soda is added).

I still pay for the theater, but I usually only watch a movie once anyway.
