Can I ask what pattern you used to get that ?

It's not the answer I have, but it might be another one that works..

This looks like a repeat of an earlier puzzle. And the Ace of Clubs is the wrong answer.

Hint : There is a pattern to each column of cards.

I know what the correct answer is. I'm just saying that this puzzle was posted before. Its not a problem, but anyone who wants to know the answer just needs to look up the previous post.

Hint : Consider clubs and spades to be 'positive' and hearts and diamonds to be 'negative'.

    That's not how it works.

Here is the answer as published :

    Answer : 9 of Clubs
Explanation : Taking red cards as positive values and black cards as negative values, in each column of the diagram, the lower card value equals the sum of the two upper card values. The suits are used alternately in each column.

    Another Puzzle:

A blind-folded man is handed a deck of 52 cards, and told that exactly 10 of these cards are facing up.

He is asked to divide those cards into two piles, each with the same number of cards facing up.

He can't peek, get help, or damage the cards, but may use any strategy that occurs to him to do so.

    How can he do it?

I see now that I broke my own pattern when I was solving, and if I go back and do it with my pattern I still get 9 of clubs. I added the top and bottom to get middle (7+3=10), I added middle and top to get bottom (4+2=6), I subtracted bottom and top to get middle (12-8=4), I subtracted top and middle to get bottom (13-2=11), I added top and bottom to get middle (6+2-8), and add top and middle to get bottom (4+5=9). I had previously added top and bottom for some reason.

As for the club I see there are 2 clubs, 2 hearts, 1 spade, and 1 diamond in the first row. The second the diamond id replaced by an extra club. So with the diamond back in the third row, and only one club showing, the missing card had to be a club.

This is how I solved the problem the first time it was posted. If the suits are the same the values are added to each other and the resulting card is the same suit. If the suits are different from each other the values are subtracted from each other with the suit of the remainder being the suit with the largest value.

    Or :

We are playing football and our team is lined up on the opponent's 19.

We lose 1 yard on the play. So now we are lined up on the 20.
