    Salt in small quantities is a flavor enhancer. If done properly you don't taste the salt but what ever you are eating taste more flavorful. I don't know about other fruits, but I put salt on my watermelon. It makes a bland unripe tasting melon taste as if its ripe. It probably does the same to other fruits too.
