Hey all you Texans and there are a few of us with our few once was that still love our republic. Here is a weather web site that is really good. http://texasstormchasers.com/ it is great to keep track of the storms that rumble across the Lone Star State. From Texarkana to El Paso from Oklahoma to old Mexico it will give you a heads up on whether you are in danger. Please enjoy!!!!!!!

Best thing about Texas in the summer is jean shorts, cowboy boots, and beautiful women.

Along with cold beer, Bar-B-Que, music festivals, and Willie's 4 th of July picnic. With new potatoes, fresh tomatoes, green beans, ice cold watermelon, and okra. Fresh shrimp , steak and burgers on the grill. Short hot nights along with hot lazy afternoons. Sitting on the porch under the ceiling fan looking at the lake.

    God Bless Texas,

    Gentleman Jim

We seem to judge Mexican restaurants by their salsa and chips don't we. Myself I love enchiladas , tamales, and quesadillas. Hold the beans and extra rice. With sour cream and guacamole on the side. A big unsweetened tea please with lemon.

For me, it's the salsa. If the salsa isn't good, I don't come back.

Yes and now we have the foodies with their designer salsa. We have a little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that has great food. Yet these foodies run to the place that has raspberry and Sun dried tomato salsa. With hand ground blue corn chips at $6 a pop. The little Mexican place The chip and salsa are free with the meal and every thing is made fresh by hand every day by a little old Mexican grandma who has done it all her life. Great food, clean place, and the price is dirt cheap for what you get.

One of the paper companies clear cut part of their land. It was about two miles from us about 50 or 75 acres of pine. Ever since the neighbors down that way have been having trouble with feral hogs. A couple have had their gardens invaded. Think that a night hunt is in order. Fresh roasted hog on the grill. Sausage maybe even some boudin. Kill it and grill it the Texas way.
