As I understand it....(if you are doing Dog Sledding.)

Malamutes: Bigger dog....travels a bit slower, but can go further in distance in a day..
Siberian: Slightly smaller...but can travel a bit faster although not as far in a day..

Both need plenty of exercise, so a long daily walk is a good idea, as well as plenty of other things to occupy their intelligent minds.

Some one please correct me if I'm wrong....I will stand corrected.

But as Alexandra says, they are cute dogs anyway. Take Buu for example.......just ask Amy.

    Cheers

I think my favorite would have to be a mix between a husky and a wolf.

My saying that Malamute's have thicker skulls is referring to their training (Even though a Malamute does have a physically thicker skull!) The Malamute breed is much closer to a Wolf and that instinctive behavior is a very large obstacle when you are trying to train a dog. Larger equates to harder to control, as does having a mind of its own! ;)

Ah...never having had either of those breeds...I'll stand corrected on this point. But a wolf , like a coyote, I would think is not a stupid animal. It is well able to learn things that it wants to.

Harder to control would mean that it is not quite so 'man friendly'...?

It's canine related, so it's a safe area where most people can relate, without having to put up a defensive wall! :);):D

always been a dog guy. they really do become family. My mom and I lost our boxer brody 4 months back and we still arent used to him being gone. sometimes me and my mom will go to give him some human food while we are eating dinner and turn to where he always sat patiently waiting for "his share" only to remember hes not there. they really are amazing creatures. lot of history between humans and dogs (horses to). no other animals in history that im aware of have worked hand in paw as closely as dogs. the things they are capable of is truly remarkable. ive even heard that dogs can sniff out cancer in humans.
