Houston is messed up today. Major highways are still blocked with high water and abandoned vehicles. The weather station says more rain possible tonight and the rest of the week. I gonna need a boat.

750+ cars towed from major roads so far. Now they will start on side streets.

Whenindoubt when did you get into my garden. Was without electricity, phone, and internet. Only for 15 hours. Now we have to pick up the mail down at the corner store five miles down the road. The whole neighborhood is like a pack of drowned rats. More rain on the way. The forecast puts a chance of rain every day this week. Even our septic systems can't take any more.

We may bend but by God we Texans ain't gonna break.

For sure, been raining and thunder for the last 4 hours and heading East. Might want to park a boat by the porch.

What do you mean it is. Along with the other three now in the front. The pirouge is the one I am conunting on. Now deep enough that we can paddle down the ditches to the dry road. From there to the corner store. The truck and car are parked in water nowhere else to. Pretty much just stuck in the house.

Jim Croce was a Philadelphia fellow, whose parents were from Italy.

Nice try with the drama, though ...

Jamie think he was talking about me. Walking tall, locked and loaded, making list, and taking names. A proud Texan.

    ALERT
The bright object in the sky is called the "sun....do not be alarmed but do not look directly at it. Here are some more tips from our friends at Joshua FD
    [IMG]
    City of Joshua Fire Department
We are getting reports of widespread sunshine. This phenomenon often occurs after clouds move out of the area and it has been a while since many of you have experienced this so we want to give you the following safety tips:
    1. Do NOT look directly at the bright light in the sky as this can damage your eyes permanently.
    2. Utilize your hands, a hat, or even sunglasses to help shield your eyes from the brightness of this event.
    3. The use of portable lights such as flashlights during the daytime can be discontinued at this time.
    4. If you will be outside for an extended period of time protection for your skin from the damaging rays of this event may be necessary, either by wearing clothing that covers and protects exposed skin or by utilizing a sunblock cream/lotion/spray rated SPF 50 or greater until you readjust and can tolerate lower SPF levels.
    5. You will possibly be seeing things you had not noticed in a while such as colors, and objects at a greater distance. Remain calm, you will readjust to seeing these things soon.
    6. You will begin to feel warmer when outside. This is just part of the phenomenon and is no cause for alarm as you will not catch fire from it.
    7. You may notice an improvement in your mood as well as the mood of others. This is normal and ok and a natural part of this phenomenon so there is nothing to be alarmed about.
As always we are monitoring this situation and will alert you to any changes as necessary.
