I know that when I mention "surfing with the aid of dial-up" that already some here will be puzzled and not know what I mean.
    See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dial-up_Internet_access

Even if it's hard to believe, some areas still have dial-up, the number is however decreasing.
So yes, I'm curious about who still uses dial-up, so that's the reason for this poll.

Thank you to all who will participate.

Heh, no such luck where I live. Rarely any phone lines and the only company offering broadband will only promise 1 meg service for $60.00 a month. So I have to use my hotspot on my phone for any internet lol.

Very rural Alabama. Despite the internet shortage I do enjoy it here.

Is Alabama really your sweet home?

Well, it’s home anyway lol. So tired of that song lol. While playing in bands I got so damn sick of having to play it lol.

I was the first in the neighborhood with ISDN (my exchange was downtown because few else had it originally) and then DSL and now cable (currently at 1gb/sec download speed)

    Yes I started with a 300baud modem.

Nope, that would require having a phone line. And I haven't had one of those for years. Been strictly cable internet ever since it became available in my area.
