Sheep are now able to be posted. I am not going back through the history of why that rule was made. All I am saying is you can now post Sheep after it has been discusses by the staff. Thank you. :)

I'm sorry for my ignorance but what are sheep. Sheep as in animorphic sheep or just the animal sheep and people doing wrong things to them. Or the blow up sheep getting, you know. Im confused what is meant by sheep. (I hope it's not what I think it is)

Sheep are 4 legged animals grown for their wool and as food.
A while back there was a feud between a few members that involved posts with comments about, pictures of , and drawings of sheep.
A restriction placed on sheep in posts at that time has been lifted.

It was a running gag with a friend of our who has since quit the forum. His avatar and handle was Shaun-the-Sheep from the British (CBBC) cartoon series. People were hurling insults at each other (all in good fun) and using the sheep as the center of the jokes. That's is until one person got pissed off and threw a hissy-fit over it all and screamed bloody murder. Fortunately that person is also gone but we lost our sheep jokes. Now that seems to be rescinded but a lot of time and water has flowed under the bridge since then.

In light of this message I shall now attempt to contact the person who was Shaun-the-Sheep and see if he would like to return. Somehow I doubt but I will email him.

Yes, but only if they are 18 years of age, or older.

That will really mean that the mutton is dressed up to be a lamb. 18 year old sheep??? they would never live that long!!

    Cheers

True....Sheep on average live 10-12 years. I have 10 0f them just t0 keep in step with the community and they are used for wool. None of the area sheep are raised for food that I know of....only for wool production.

I always thought they lived longer like 18 to 20. I guess toting all that wool around takes it toll though. What time of year do the farmer shear them? has to be the spring or they would freeze to death. Brrrrrrrr!

April (so they are much cooler during the summer), otherwise they would have to go down to the Woolen Mills and buy a coat. Prices vary of course but I get anywhere from €18-25 per pound and some sheep can produce up to 30 lbs a year.
